Frequently Asked Questions – Admissions

Find answers to common questions about our admissions process

Pinnacle Irrawaddy is one of the most competitive and academically rigorous college-preparatory schools in the region. Our mission is to develop globally minded students prepared to thrive at top universities through a challenging curriculum, individualized support, and an inclusive, intellectually vibrant community.

Yes. Admissions at Pinnacle Irrawaddy are need-blind for all new students, meaning financial need plays no role in admission decisions. We are deeply committed to making an elite education accessible to all qualified students, regardless of their family's financial circumstances.

We proudly meet full demonstrated financial need. Some families pay up to 0% in tuition, depending on financial eligibility. We believe no talented student should be denied an exceptional education due to cost.

We take a holistic approach to admissions. Our evaluation includes academic performance, standardized test scores (if available), letters of recommendation, extracurricular involvement, a personal statement, and a required interview. We seek students who are not only academically strong but also demonstrate leadership, character, and a genuine passion for learning.

We offer two academic pathways:

  • College-Preparatory Track – A traditional 4-year high school program designed to prepare students for admission to top universities worldwide.
  • Dual Credit Track – A 2+2-year program that allows students to complete both a college-prep high school diploma and begin earning credits toward an associate degree, in partnership with accredited higher education institutions.

Both tracks are designed to challenge students while providing flexibility and support.

Yes, but space is limited. Fewer than 10% of transfer applicants are admitted each year. Transfer credits must come from accredited local or international institutions, and a minimum of 25% of total credits must be earned at Pinnacle Irrawaddy to be eligible for graduation. While we offer holistic credit evaluations, transfer credit approval is not guaranteed.

Students who are intellectually curious, academically driven, and eager to grow within a diverse and challenging academic community. We look for individuals with a strong sense of purpose, integrity, and a commitment to learning beyond the classroom.

Our admissions cycle opens in the fall for the upcoming academic year. Due to our highly selective process, we encourage early applications. Please visit our Admissions Calendar for key dates and deadlines.

We provide a full range of support services, including one-on-one academic advising, tutoring, college counseling, and enrichment programs. Students also benefit from subject-specific boot camps, advanced coursework, and leadership development opportunities.

Yes. A personal interview is required for all applicants. It allows us to learn more about the student's goals, values, and readiness for the Pinnacle Irrawaddy experience. It's also an excellent opportunity for families to ask questions about our programs and community.

Yes. We welcome applicants from around the world and are proud of our multicultural student body. We provide language support and cultural transition resources to help international students succeed and feel at home.

If you're looking for a high school that challenges you, supports you, and prepares you to stand out in a competitive world, then yes—this is your place. Whether your goal is a top-tier university, or a head start on college through dual credit, we offer the tools, people, and environment to help you thrive.
